WCB (Workers Compensation Board) was the location of a Hostage taking when a man who had been re-injured by a WCB doctor and who was very angry over how his claim was being handled, took 8 people hostage for 10 hours.
WCB has a history of abuse against long time claim holders, including malpractice by WCB Doctors, Denying claims without reason, and stalking injured workers. The WCB in Edmonton has a billion dollar surplus of moneys from this behavior and has been caught rewarding caseworkers for denying claims. WCB has also been accused of defrauding Alberta Health Care of hundreds of millions of dollars.
